Summary
In April, Ruth asks her father how he and her mother met. Confused, he begins to tell her about Joan, not Annie. He tells Ruth that she appeared on the first day of classes and he felt drawn to her instantly. Years ago, Annie was also his student, but it was different because they were both graduate students, and Howard waited until the semester was over to ask her out. Ruth's Uncle John had been ordained to marry them on their wedding day. Lately, Uncle John has been stopping by more often to spend time with Howard.
Howard's class takes place in a restaurant this week, and Howard repeats last week's lesson without realizing it. Ruth reads that eating jellyfish can help with dementia symptoms, so she goes to the Chinese market to buy frozen and dried jellyfish. She prepares a "jellyfish...
