Summary
In “Lyla” Graham is anxiously awaiting Lyla’s return unaware that she was arrested. He is turned on when she says she was in jail and the couple has sex for the first time in months. Lyla is delighted by his sexual attention but when she tells him that she was detained after a foiled attempt to set Demi up for trespassing Graham becomes distant. He is unimpressed by her criminal activity and tells his wife that she has to explain her arrest to Margo at dinner. Lyla and Graham drive up to Margo’s estate for an elaborate dinner in the garden. At dinner Margo insists that Lyla does not have the “killer instinct” necessary to play the game and prove herself a rightful member of their family (196).
