Points of View

The story is told from the third person omniscient point of view. There are many characters in the overall story and their views are all told from the same perspective. The style and voice are very clearly British and are thus recounted in a prim and proper way. It is easy to differentiate the many characters and their experiences. All the voices, though British, are still distinctive from one another. Any accents, slang, or nuances in speech are specifically laid out.

The voice of the writer has a light and humorous tone. There are one-liner jokes and quips throughout. As the action unfolds, the tone and perspective remain constant; as the story has many humorous moments, it remains that way even as an event as daunting and serious as Armageddon takes place.
