Section 2, Pages 11-38 Summary
Crowley speeds through the night in his Bentley, on his way to meet with Hastur and Ligur. When they meet, they recount the Deeds of the Day to each other. This is done as a way of securing souls for their master, Satan. Hastur passes a basket to Crowley, who dreads its meaning. Hastur and Ligur remind Crowley that this is what they have waited centuries for. Per the instructions, he goes to a hospital.
The hospital is run by nuns. There, Crowley meets Mr. Young, an expectant father. After making his way past, he runs into Sister Mary and is about to perform a baby-switch. As Sister Mary chats with Mr. Young, she does not realize the orderly's error when the wrong baby is taken and the Youngs are left with The Adversary. Sister Mary helps Mr. Young...
