Summary
In Part 1, Chapter 1, 18-year-old Pippa Fitz-Amobi, wondered how the family stayed in Fairview after their son Sal died five years ago. She rang their bell and Ravi Singh, Sal's younger brother answered. Determined to prove Sal had not killed Andie Bell, Pip wanted to ask Ravi questions about Sal for her capstone project.
In her capstone project log, Pip recorded the background details of the Andie Bell and Sal Singh cases. When she was 17, Andie disappeared. Her parents had been out; her sister, Becca, was the last to see her. Though Sal supposedly killed her, Andie’s body had never been found. Pip learned that missing persons cases were treated more carefully when the individual was a minor, or seemed to have been the victim of a crime. Because police believed Sal killed Andie, they closed her case.
