Summary

Chapter 7 is titled “Pretty, Dangerous, and Lick-Worthy.” Cin cannot stop bouncing even though “The wolf in me was cringing, maybe even dying a little inside at my antics” (72). Cin collapses when a worker puts a silver collar around her neck. Han says she will be fine without it, and the official argues but gives in. When Han is not paying close attention, Cin urges Bebe to come closer. Bebe hides under Cin. Outside, Cin discovers she is physically unable to leave Han's side to run away. She is finally able to get past the scents – including Han's cologne and the other dogs – and recognizes the “subtle” smell of wolf. Cin knows there was a bond between Mars and Juniper, but it did not last. This makes her unwilling to commit to the bond she feels toward Han. She admits she has been jaded...
