Part 1, Bow

Chapter 1 – 20-year-old Darrow trains at the Academy in order to command a fleet. He does so with the patronage of Nero au Augustus, for Darrow now serves but secretly plots against the Augustus family. Two years before, Darrow, of the Peerless Scarred, left beautiful Virginia “Mustang” au Augustus behind on Mars after winning at Mars’s Institute, where he was trained to survive and conquer. Darrow now trains for war in astral combat under the watchful eye of the Golds and Roque, a lance for House Augustus. Among those training is hard-living, drug-taking Tactus au Rath, and the beautiful but tough-as-nails Victra au Julii. They duel several children of the Bellona family, who have vowed actual revenge on Darrow for killing Julian au Bellona in the Passage on Mars.
