Section 12, Pages 428 - 461 Summary
Ten scouts are in the helicopter, half are loyal Matabele. Sean knows them all and to them he and Matatu are living legends. Roland Ballantyne, founder of the Scouts, tries often to get Sean to commit as his second in command to no avail. Sean and Matatu drop to the ground first and pick up the spoor of five of the twenty terrorists of whom they are in pursuit. They meet with the regiment giving chase and learn the direction, then board the helicopter again to cut the fleeing terrorists off. Matatu uses his legendary senses to interpret their direction, guiding the Scouts and the helicopter in the right direction. In fifteen minutes, Matatu gains them eight hours. They fly on again, leaving four men to follow. The next landing zone is more difficult, but they follow Matatu's lead...
