Section 2, Pages 42 - 81 Summary
Ramon arrives at the party just as Bella is losing interest and seeing him changes that. She puts down her champagne and walks to him. Without a word they dance and then leave the party together. He drives Bella's car back to his flat, taking her upstairs with a need that seems to match her own. She wakes alone the next morning in love. Ramon has left a note inviting her to spend the weekend with him in Malaga. Excited, Bella gets ready to meet Shasa for lunch.
The weekend with Ramon exceeds her wildest expectations. She watches him compete in a marksmanship contest that comes down to just him and an American professional. Tied for many rounds, the judges decide two pigeons must be shot each round instead of one. The American goes first but only one bird...
