Summary

In Chapter 16, Derndra and Trinity Prism visit Cherry’s to give Lacey an invitation to a GOTS meeting that evening.

Lacey goes to the Pac to look for pregnancy magazines. Quince, the infidel cashier, says they have no magazines as GOTS boys broke into the store and replaced them with GOTS Bibles, which are fake. She explains the real Bible does not mention Vern, which Lacey did not realize.

Lacey goes to Diviners. She wonders if Florin and Daisy would take her out of Peaches; since they are non-believers they would not be stopped. After her shift, Florin gives her a stack of pregnancy books she took out from the other town’s library for her.
