Summary
Chapter XIV starts with Anaxandra looking for Pleisthenes. She goes to Cassandra to try to find out where he is, and tells her her real name. She tells Anaxandra the gods have cursed her, and then says that she is to be married to Agamemnon when an earthquake strikes. She reassures Anaxandra that Pleisthenes is okay, and warns her to stay out of the way of Helen and Paris. Later, a snowstorm hits, and Anaxandra weaves with the other women and tells them about Menelaus. As spring comes, Troy hears that Menelaus is preparing a fleet but cannot get to Troy because there is no wind in his favor. Agamemnon sacrifices one of his daughters in an attempt to appease the gods, and eventually Menelaus’s ships arrive.
Chapter XV sees Aethra cutting off Anaxandra’s hair again at Helen’s command. Anaxandra...
