Summary

Part Two: "No Law East of the Pecos" starts with Chapter 11: "Lightning." Roger and Bree look over the ruins of the cabin that used to be the church. Bree considers making gunpowder and Roger teases her over it. Bree plans to get more from Mrs. Patton because she knows a battle will happen in a year about 100 miles away. A man named Patrick Ferguson will raise a loyalist's militia that the family will not be able to ignore. As Roger thinks that they knew war would always be close, Bree reminisces on Roger's first sermon at this cabin. Both believe they can rebuild and Bree considers becoming an armorer.
