Chapter 10 Summary
As Eve speaks to Nadine, the cameras roll. She makes the killer seem small, seemingly daring him to come after her. Nadine tells the cameraman to leave the room, and Nadine tears into Eve, accusing her of being a "media whore". The two women bicker for several minutes, and Nadine turns to leave. At the door, she suddenly realizes that Eve is using herself to set a trap for the killer, shocked that she would do such a thing. Fearing for Eve's life, she tries unsuccessfully to talk her out of it. Eve warns Nadine to watch her own back, and sees Nadine shudder as she walks out the door. When she receives a call from Commander Whitney's office, she knows he has seen the broadcast.
Before Roarke has to leave town for a bit he has a surprise for her. He leads...
