Chapter 5 Summary
When the alarm rings the next morning, Roarke and Eve discuss Marco Angelini and his business dealings.
As Eve prepares to leave Roarke asks her if he will see her at home that night, and Eve refuses to acknowledge what he is hinting at, and agrees that she will meet him at his place. This annoys Roarke to no end. However, he takes a slim box out of his pocket and gives it to Eve. She is stunned to see a fine chain, and dangling from it a diamond the size of her thumb. Knowing the magnitude of such a gift, Eve is in a total panic, and Roarke deliberately tries to act casual.
