Part 1, Chapters 12-7, pgs. 140 - 191 Summary

Victor goes to the Silk Building where Lauren lives. He gives the name of Damien to the doorman. Lauren wants him to leave when she sees him but he refuses. She keeps mentioning Chloe. When Victors gets her in bed, the doorman announces that Damien is on his way up. She grabs some items and tells him to tell Damien that he is picking them up for Chloe, who needs them for that evening. Damien asks Victor to bring Lauren to the club opening. Damien says that Allison is his fiancée and Lauren is his girlfriend.

In chapter eleven, Victor again thinks about Chloe and their Los Angeles trip. Chloe was secretly in rehab for a month. Victor stayed at a hotel and picks her up when she completes the program.
