The Day it Happened Summary

Brendan calls Emily, which he hadn't really spoken to in a while, to let her know that he had been rejected from a military school that he had applied. The school dance that night is held in the gym at school. Emily runs into Allison at Blockbuster. When Emily tells Allison that Brendan called Emily to make sure that she wasn't going to be at the dance, Allison got a creepy feeling and decided to walk over to the school to see what was going on.

Dustin describes how Brendan and Gary entered the gym, dressed in camouflage, and started shooting. While the two masked gunmen, which everyone recognizes as Brendan and Gary, are shooting and yelling, they are instructing everyone to lie face down on the floor.
