More of Eighth Grade Summary

Allison is Gary's on and off again girlfriend. She explains how she thought she knew Gary really well. In retrospect, however, she realizes that she didn't really know Gary at all. She talks about how the only person that really knew Gary was Brendan. Allison says it was as if the two of them even had their own language.

Allison tells a story about a time she and Gary were sitting in the car in her driveway. They were pretending as if they were driving through the desert together. Since Gary had been to the desert before, he was describing the scenery to Allison. At one point, Allison even placed her head on Gary's shoulder.
