Moon

The moon is symbolic of Poornima, as her name actually means "moon." She brings light in the dark and hope for Savitha. Poornima represents the light of the moon on the outside of the bathroom door at night, when Savitha is thought to be inside.

Sari

The sari is symbolic of Poornima and Savitha’s friendship. Savitha starts making the sari for Poornima’s wedding, but she does not complete the sari and takes the fabric with her when she flees. The wedding sari binds Savitha and Poornima together.

Burn

The burn represents Poornima’s passion for finding Savitha. The burn is meant to destroy Poornima and rid her from the marriage to Kishore. Because Poornima has lost her marriage and does not want to return to her father, the burn gives Poornima permission to go after her friend years after Savitha left.
