Summary

Part 3 is titled Savitha. Chapter 1 switches to Savitha fleeing Indravalli and taking a ride from a truck driver. The driver puts his hand by her crotch and Savitha demands he let her out of the truck, twisting his wrist until he stops. Savitha struggles with language while she tries to get from one place to another. She ends up being drugged and tied up in a room. She wakes up to a young girl cleaning her and boy giving her more drugs. She tries to communicate with them and learns that “girl was a deaf-mute, and the boy had been blind” (147). Savitha continues to be tied to the bed and is injected with drugs. Guru comes in with a knife. After a while, Savitha is untied, but left locked in the room.
