Importance: This quote is the motto for the indie theatre company, Bush Women Theatre, that Amma and Dominique found early in their careers. It represents their refusal to compromise their principles or their politics in order to get work in the theatre. This quote also demonstrates where their careers began and how far they have come in the intervening years, as represented by Amma's production at The National, an institution that represents the mainstream cultural establishment.
