Chapters 3-4 Summary

Chapter 3 opens in Skye's GATE English class, the class for gifted and talented students. A college-level course, the class is very competitive. Skye has one friend in the class, a boy she thinks is a genius, called Sam. After school, Skye goes to play volleyball. She is a not very gifted member of the team, but is friendly with a girl called Lorri, whom she finds sexy in an athletic and unassuming kind of way. On the way home from practice, however, Skye sees a girl at the bus stop, and follows her into a cafe, where the girl, Jessica, meets two friends. Skye can only manage a few words to her, but finds her waif-like and very appealing. Back at home, Anna has brought an astrologer friend, Paul, to see Skye.
