Summary
Dr. Weston asks Kim about the school and is annoyed when Kim is not effusive about its merits. She tells Kim that “no school in their right mind would denee you admisee,” although Kim cannot understand all the words in her statement (108). When Dr. Weston asks Kim if she would like to attend the school, Kim worries that she looks too different from the other students. When Kim worries about money, Dr. Weston suggests that some students receive 50 percent tuition waivers. Kim knows that they would not be able to pay even that much. Kim ends their meeting by telling Dr. Weston that they do not have a phone at home and that her mother does not speak English.
