Summary
Jade is having a dream in which she and Lucinda are on the beach. Lucinda is trying to talk to her, but she cannot hear her. When she wakes up, she looks at what her witchcraft book says about signs from the dead and takes a shower with her clothes on and remembers the day she had wished Lucinda away as she watched Lucinda go to the Thornton’s. Later, after the shower, she goes to breakfast where Amy and her mother are fighting about Amy’s makeup. Her mother wants Amy to wear more. Her mother has never bothered to dress Jade.
