Summary
It is 11:03 p.m. on Sunday, September 12th. Ginny is laying in bed “breathing fast” (45). Earlier that evening, after watching a boat parade with her Forever Parens, Ginny had become too distracted by the firework show inside her brain to think about the time. When she opened her eyes to request better car music, she saw that the time was 10:43. She picked her fingers and exclaimed, “Well dang!” (46). In her head, she wrote: “Bedtime = 9:00 at Night” (46) because she was nine years old “when the police came” and took her away from Gloria (47). She thought about Baby Doll and decided to “sing it a lullaby” (47). Her Forever Dad turned off the radio, and her Forever Mom covered the clock.
