Summary

Amy sleeps over in Brian's Sleep Slot. They have sex, talk, and laugh. Though Brian did not "think of Amy as all that cute" in the past, he does now (9).

In the morning, Amy says she does not know if they can keep seeing each other. Their relationship is compromising her responsibilities as Special Assistant. "Seeing Tom dead" disturbed her, especially since she and Brian are to blame (9). She only lied about what happened because she had not wanted to see Brian "kicked to death" (9). Brian says she saved his life.

On their way out of the Sleep Slot, they find the place filled with water. Trash floats past. As Amy's boots fill with water, she says, “I hate this,” though does not say what (10). Brian says, "These seem to be getting worse," but also does not say what (10). Finally, after splashing along...
