Shadow Markets

There are Shadow Markets all around the world, which serve as places where Downworlders, including faeries, vampires, werewolves, and warlocks buy, sell, trade, and socialize. The characters of these stories visit various Shadow Markets, usually hidden from the eyes of mundanes through glamour spells. The Markets are settings for some of the important events but mainly serve as a place where characters find information or encounter other characters. For example, Brother Zachariah spends a lot of time at various Markets in search of information about a lost branch of the Herondale family.

London

London is the setting for several of the stories of this novel. This is where Matthew Fairchild lives and where Anna Lightwood learns to embrace her true nature. This is also where Tessa Gray and Catarina Loss serve as nurses during World War II when London is being bombed repeatedly.
