Summary

The next story is titled “The Lost World” and is set in 2013. The situation for Shadowhunters has changed dramatically at this point due to a recent war and upheaval in the government. Ty Blackthorn is studying at the Scholomance, a place that was previously used to train centurions but was now being used for Shadowhunters. Catarina Loss and Ragnor Fell are among the current instructors. Ty's twin sister Livvy died during the recent conflicts but Ty resurrected her using the Black Volume of the Dead, though the spell he tried to work did not go exactly as planned. She is not wholly resurrected, appears only as a ghost, and has some supernatural tie to Ty. At first, she had been unable to remember herself or Ty, but had gradually become more like herself. He considers her a “ghostly albatross” around his neck...
