Summary
Chapter Forty: This chapter is a letter from Eddie to Alex. Eddie’s aunt took care of his mother while he was away. She refused to go to her psychiatrist appointment because she said she could not deal with any of it without Eddie.
On his way home from the airport, Eddie had been unable to stop at his mother’s house and had driven on. He had received several texts and calls from her, so he let her know he was fine and then went to Alan’s house. Sitting with Lily, Alan’s daughter, he thought Sarah had changed something in him and he can now imagine himself with children.
From there, Eddie went home without visiting his mother. He loves his home but feels trapped there because of his mother. He kept trying to tell himself that letting go...
