Gertie's House

Gertie’s House is where Gertie lives with her Aunt Rae and her father Frank. Frank is gone for long stretches of time while he works on an oil rig, so Aunt Rae runs the household. Gertie has her own room and watches television in the living room with Audrey, a young girl Aunt Rae watches. The house is modest and is where Gertie challenges Frank about his job.

Elementary School

The elementary school is where Gertie attends fifth grade along with her friends: Jean and Junior. It is where Gertie has gone to school over the years and where Mary Sue attends when she moves to the area. It is where Gertie steals the candy dish from the principal’s office and where the school play is performed.
