Summary
Genesis finds another note on the front door: it is an official notice threatening eviction. She does not grasp why this is happening again so she decides to take bold action. She boards a public bus bound for her dad’s plant. She hopes to find the landlord, author of the note and a coworker of her dad’s, and negotiate extra time for their rent payment. When she reaches the plant, she finds out that the coworker has already left for the day. She risks asking for her dad; a guard mockingly tells her that he is no longer employed. Back home, Genesis makes up an excuse when her mom scolds her for being late, not yet ready to share the devastating truth.
