Summary

Today is a special day for Genesis: a group of cool girls has finally agreed to come home with her after school. Genesis has never been considered cool because of her very dark skin. As they approach her house, Genesis panics when she sees all of her family’s belongings outside; this is their fourth eviction. The girls mock her and angrily leave when she dares to fire back at their leader, Regina. In Genesis's mind, this incident conjures up "The List" started by two classmates in grade school and entitled "100 Reasons We Hate Genesis," to which she has been adding her own items.
