Importance: This caption is above a picture of three boys in a clubhouse, telling Galen and Kobabe that he could join them but e could not, "Because she is a girl and girls have COOTIES!" (17). This seems to have been one of the first times Kobabe was made to feel excluded because of eir assigned-at-birth gender, which did not match eir gender identity. E has drawn emself looking confused and shrugging, as e did not know why e was being treated this way.
