Summary

Part 2 includes the chapters “Girl Failure,” “Girl Failure,” “Rosie,” “God Failure,” “Listing My Sisters,” and “Cowboy” from pages 21 through 65. The first “Girl Failure” chapter is told from Ivan’s perspective, telling a story about growing up in the Yukon with their former best friend Janine. They were very close friends, both self- identified tomboys who liked to play sports. Once they started junior high, however, Janine became friends with a new group of girls, and soon Janine was bra shopping with them. Ivan writes, “the first things that ever truly came between the two of us were those breasts” (23).
