In third grade, Tabitha Bell, the new smart kid at school, says she wants to be an astronaut, so Peter Berman says he does too since he does not know what else to say. Thus begins their academic competition. Now, at the end of their junior year, Peter and Tabitha rarely speak because of this competition though they have nearly every class together. Peter does not really want to be an astronaut, but he credits Tabitha and their competition for his straight A's. Moreover, Peter has been in love with Tabitha since fifth grade.
