Rural Vermont

The majority of Gather takes place in an unnamed small town in rural Vermont. Much of the story takes place during the winter, with the cold New England weather helping to drive much of the plot.

The Henry family's Land

Ian's family, the Henrys, once owned a much larger tract of farmland. However, much of the land was sold off due to the family's increasing poverty, leaving them with only the house, a shed, and a few remaining acres. Ian feels a deep connection to the land and is extremely reluctant to leave it or give any of it up.

Ian's High School
