Part 1: Chapters 5-6 Summary
My Wedding Party. Olivia finds herself overdressed for her own wedding party as the guests arrive in the latest fashion, shorter dresses with dropped waists. As Olivia mingles, joining guests in mid-conversation, she soon becomes aware that most of the talk is about her and it is not favorable. At one point, Olivia sees her husband go into his library with a female guest and later becomes aware that they were engaging in heavy flirtation, the same type Malcolm claims to dislike, while she is suffering at the hands of negative gossips. That night, Malcolm comes to Olivia's room and demands that she provide a male heir as he forces himself upon her.
Fathers and Sons. Olivia gives birth to a son, Malcolm Neal Foxworth Jr., nine months after her wedding party. Malcolm is determined to have another child...
