Chapter 49, Eddard, Chapter 50, Arya, and Chapter 51, Sansa Summary

The men who were Eddard's support have fled King's Landing. Eddard continues his fight after the king dies, however. Eddard convenes the council in order to read into the record Robert's dying wish, that Eddard be named Protector of the Realm. However, before this can be completed, Cersei announces Joffrey has been named King. Eddard goes to her and shows her Robert's writ, but Cersei tears it up, announcing there is a new king now. Cersei tells Eddard if he will bend to the new king she will let him go, but Eddard refuses. Eddard attempts to have Cersei arrested, but Cersei's men turn on Eddard, kill his men, and arrest Eddard.
