Chapter 4, Eddard, Chapter 5, Jon, and Chapter 6, Catelyn Summary

Robert and his party arrive at Winterfell. Robert asks to be taken to the crypts to pay his respects despite his wife's protests. In the crypts, they pass the ancient Kings of the North to Lyanna's crypt. Robert loved Lyanna, Eddard's sister. Seeing her statue, Robert is bothered she was not buried in a beautiful place. Eddard says she was a Stark of Winterfell and belongs in the crypt because it is what she wanted. Robert tells Eddard of Jon Arryn's death, how sudden his death was. Robert then asks Eddard to be Hand of the King, something Eddard does not want. However, Eddard tells Robert he needs time to consider it.
