Point of View

The novel is narrated in third-person past by an omniscient narrator who provides epistolary documents to supplement the central story. The first chapter begins with such a close look at Tamaya that it at first appears as if she might be the only character who the narrator is able to look inside. However, the moment the second chapter begins and the narrator tells the reader about SunRay Farms, a secret lab located 33 miles away from Tamaya’s school, it becomes clear that the narrator is capable of widening his gaze and presenting the story from other perspectives.

The narrator does not simply switch between Tamaya and the epistolary documents that recount the senators hearings about Biolene.
