Summary
Part III begins, and Cedar is back on the Ojibwe reservation listening to Eddy lead a tribal council meeting. The Ojibwe are in the process of reclaiming land that had been taken from the tribe by white settlers in the 19th century. Other Ojibwe are moving to the reservation from surrounding areas, and Eddy is organizing militias and farms so they can be self-sufficient. Cedar continues bonding with Sweetie and quarreling with Sera. The plan is for Cedar and Sera to join Glen in Canada, but Cedar wants to stay on the reservation. Cedar tells Eddy about killing Orielee and he assures her that she did what she had to do. Eddy and Sweetie take Cedar to the Kateri Tekakwitha shrine to pray.
During another fight, Sera tells Cedar the truth about her adoption, a topic she has refused to speak...
