Highway 9

Highway 9 was where many of the victims of the Reverend were found. Many of the stories around how each of the victims were found were incredibly similar. Mary Lou was found dead in her car alongside Highway 22. Similarly, John Columbus, the older brother of the Reverend, was found dead alongside the road where Highway 22 meets Highway 9. Dorcas Anderson and James Hicks were both found on Highway 9. Finally, Shirley Ann was found alongside Highway 9, ending the slew of murders alongside this stretch of road.

In all of the instances of death, there seemed to be confusion surrounding the way that the victims were murdered. For example, J.C. was supposedly hit by a car, but there were “no visible injuries” (51).
