Summary

In Chapter 8, Camila's dog, Nico, woke her "the next morning" (70). Camila dressed for a run. In the kitchen, she talked to her mother. The conversation frustrated her. The run helped her feel better.

When Diego first moved to the neighborhood, all of the children had been "obsessed with running" (73). Pablo would not help Camila learn, but Diego did. Running with Diego had felt like being "in heaven" (76). The neighborhood had changed since then.

When she returned home, Diego was waiting for her. He talked to Andrés and Pablo while Camila got ready. Camila was glad when Diego said he was taking her out.

In Chapter 9, Camila climbed into Diego's new BMW. While driving, Camila realized she had forgotten to return Roxana's call. She used Diego's phone, but Roxana did not answer. Afterwards, Camila and Diego drove in silence. Believing Diego had changed...
