Summary
Chapter Eleven begins with Jeremy grabbing a duffel bag from his cabin and meeting Jessup at the end of Cloudwater's driveway. The ride is silent until Jeremy asks where the body was found. Jessup tells him it was found close to Desolation Mountain in the Five Ponds Wilderness. The two men arrive at the crime scene and when they exit the vehicle, Jessup tells Jeremy that he must stay in the background. Jessup questions one of the other officers near the scene and finds out that no one has touched the body to get an ID. Jeremy looks over the body and the mutilation of the body makes him sick. He retrieves his duffel bag from Jessup's truck and begins to take readings on several handheld devices. The readings confirm his suspicion that there is no paranormal or spectral activity.
