Summary

Dave Streeter was driving out by the Derry airport when he pulled over and threw up. He had lung cancer, and threw up often because of his treatment, but he liked to drive. When he looked up, he saw a road-side stand with a sign that said “FAIR EXTENSION: FAIR PRICE” (360). Curiosity made Streeter approach the pudgy man who was sitting at the stand watching a small portable television. He introduced himself as George Elvid and told Streeter that he sold extensions of all sorts: height extensions, love extensions, time extensions, and more over hundreds of years. He offered to sell Streeter a life extension for the price of fifteen-percent of his annual salary for the next fifteen years, along with a transfer of the cancer onto a person that Streeter hated.
