Summary
Wilfred was certain that Andrew Larson would send Sheriff Jones out to investigate Arlette’s disappearance. Instead of immediately filling the well in, which might seem suspicious to the sheriff, he threw some of Arlette’s belongings into the well along with her and waited a few days. He sent Henry to go see Shannon and tell her a lie about how his mother had slapped Henry just before leaving, but made her promise not to tell anyone, so that when the sheriff interviewed her their story would seem even more believable.
On the day the sheriff arrived, Wilfred and Henry took one of their old, useless cows out to the well and pushed her in. Her legs broke and she landed on top of Arlette, who was still covered in rats. Wilfred and Henry started filling in the well so that it was...
