Chapters 3-6 Summary

In Chapter 3, Mason Ashford approaches Rose and tells her that the academy has decided to take the entire school and their families skiing for the winter break rather than allow the students to go to their individual homes. Mason is excited and challenges Rose to a competition on the slopes. In the gym for her early morning workout session with Dimitri, Rose discovers that he has set up some dummies to help her train with silver stakes. Rose is excited until Dimitri makes her answer a bunch of questions about the stakes and then asks where the heart is. The only way to kill a Strigoi with a stake is to put it in its heart.
