Ree Drummond

Ree Drummond is the narrator and protagonist of the memoir. Ree is the host of the show “The Pioneer Woman” on the Food Network, where she creates a variety of homestyle recipes for her audience. She is also a writer, cookbook author, and blogger. Ree was born and raised in Oklahoma, although in a more suburban environment – she grew up doing ballet, not working with cows. She then attended college in southern California. After graduating, she moved to a rural ranch to live with her husband, Ladd Drummond, who often appears on her cooking show. She and Ladd have five children and continue to operate the ranch together. The book focuses both their relationship and family, as well as on the experience of living and working on a bustling ranch in rural America.
