Ree Drummond
Ree Drummond is the narrator and protagonist of the memoir. Ree is the host of the show “The Pioneer Woman” on the Food Network, where she creates a variety of homestyle recipes for her audience. She is also a writer, cookbook author, and blogger. Ree was born and raised in Oklahoma, although in a more suburban environment – she grew up doing ballet, not working with cows. She then attended college in southern California. After graduating, she moved to a rural ranch to live with her husband, Ladd Drummond, who often appears on her cooking show. She and Ladd have five children and continue to operate the ranch together.
