Summary

Shortly after she gave birth to Alex, Ree was still adjusting to and dealing with the isolation of ranch life as well as new motherhood. When she and Ladd were invited to a double date in the city, she was determined to go, but Ladd was exhausted and wanted to stay home. While Ree was begging him to go on the date, Ladd suddenly grabbed a shotgun and ran outside to shoot a skunk. The skunk smell around their home had bee bothering them, so Ladd was trying to exterminate the animals. After shooting the skunks, Ladd told Ree that he would go on the date if she removed the dead skunk from the yard while he showered. Ree retrieved the skunk with pliers and a trash bag.
