Summary
In Part Four, Tembi wakes up on the morning of her third summer in Saro's family home with a memory of her first trip there with Saro. She imagines that he is there with her now before pulling herself back to reality. Tembi reflects on the past three years of celibacy and begins to wonder about the possibility of being open to a romantic or sexual relationship again. Though the disorientation of grief has eased, the sadness is still there; however, Tembi now has a better sense of how to ride the waves of grief. She has accepted that rebuilding her life will take time and that she is not the only one to have to do so.
