James Bond is a MI5 spy. James Bond is a suave, sophisticated man who is cool under pressure and always is successful at anything his bosses have him do. When Bond is introduced in this novel, he is bored and his spy instincts have gotten a little rusty. Bond has been inactive for a long period and is not happy with his current situation.
